In a perfect world, every month would be Good Beer Month. But ever since the powers that be (Bloomberg) announced back in 2009 that July would take on that moniker, it’s become a way to highlight not just local beer, but local food too. Yesterday, over thirty breweries and restaurants gathered at sprawling, brick-walled event space 82 Mercer to celebrate with Edible Manhattan. The event looked about twice as big as the last time I attended when it was held at BAM, and the overall quality of the food and beer blew me away.
