It’s been a month since I’ve moved to Washington, DC and I’m loving it here. Just minutes from our front door is the Crystal City farmers’ market, and everything from fresh plums to Salvadoran herbs. The blackberries a few weeks ago inspired me to start a blog series for Gut Check (Northern Virginia Magazine‘s fabulous dining blog) about seasonal produce. Since it’s still humid and searingly hot here in DC, I’m using the seasonal produce to create recipes without turning on the oven. It’s just way too hot.
