New Guest Blog Post

It’s been a month since I’ve moved to Washington, DC and I’m loving it here. Just minutes from our front door is the Crystal City farmers’ market, and everything from fresh plums to Salvadoran herbs. The blackberries a few weeks ago inspired me to start a blog series for Gut Check (Northern Virginia Magazine‘s fabulous dining blog) about seasonal produce. Since it’s still humid and searingly hot here in DC, I’m using the seasonal produce to create recipes without turning on the oven. It’s just way too hot. Click here to read the first of the series, a Blackberry-Gin Syllabub and stay tuned to Gut Check for the rest!

About francoiseeats

I'm currently working as a freelance travel and food writer, and photographer. I spent two years at StarChefs.com, the culinary on-line magazine for the industry insider. My articles have been published in New York, NY and Richmond, VA. After graduating from Columbia University and recovering from the tragedy of not being able to read Camus books for a living, I attended The Culinary Institute of America, where my scone consumption rose drastically. Fluent in French and Italian, I've worked in some of New York's top restaurants and covered food-related stories in a number of publications, from The Richmond Times-Dispatch to Time Out New York.
